BELFAST (NEWS CENTER) -- The man accused of holding a class of fifth graders hostage at gunpoint at Stockton Springs Elementary School a year ago was in court today.

Randall Hofland is trying to get some of the evidence against him thrown out. That evidence was gathered when a police officer pulled over Hofland for a seatbelt safety check the week before the incident at the school. Hofland allegedly pulled a gun on the officer and then sped off. He said in court today that the traffic stop was a violation of his constitutional rights. He also denied pulling the gun and said the case was part of a government conspiracy to harass and intimidate him.
