BELFAST (NEWS CENTER) - Police have charged a man from Belfast in connection with a home invasion investigation.

Court documents say that 22-year-old Stanley Ward of Belfast went to the home of Patricia Moss, and elderly woman, also of Belfast late Tuesday afternoon.

They say Ward knocked on Moss' door and she let him into the home.  Moss told police, Ward's father mows her lawn, so she knows Stanley.

She told police, once Ward got into her home, he started telling her about his financial troubles.  The affidavits says Ward then became angry and dragged Mos to the bathroom and pushed her down, and held a knife to her throat.

The affidavit states, Ward then took the keys to Moss' car, and forced her into it.  The documents say, Ward then drove her to Knox, to the Dutton Pond Road.

Police say Ward forced Moss into a trailer on the dirt road and slit her throat.

Moss says she was convinced he was going to kill her.

The documents say Moss lost conciousness and when she woke up, she crawled out of the trailer.  Moss says she saw a truck that she thought was Ward's pull back onto the road, so she hid in the ditch until the truck left.

Police say, Moss then crawled the legnth of the dirt road and made her way to Route 137 where a person saw her and called an ambulance.

Moss was taken to Waldo County Hospital. then transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center by life flight.  Police say she is expected to recover from her injuries.
