ALFRED, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The man from York who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of his friend, is going to prison for 20 years.

Richard Dalli, 51, was sentenced Monday afternoon in York County Superior Court in Alfred.

Dalli was charged with fatally stabbing 39-year-old John Wheeler in September 2008 after a night of drinking.

A mistrial was declared last month in Dalli's murder trial after the jury deadlocked. Prosecutors say the trial was complicated due to Dalli's history of substance abuse and mental illness.
