Benefit held for Cherryfield woman who lost son, house in fire

CHERRYFIELD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Community members are rallying to help a woman who lost her son and her house in a fire on Wednesday.

Investigators found the body of 35-year-old Christopher Farnsworth in the rubble of the burned out farmhouse on U.S. Route 1 in Cherryfield.

Mary Farnsworth survived the fire.

The town of Cherryfield is holding a benefit dinner at noon on Sunday, December 20 at the American Legion Hall in Cherryfield. For more information, call the Cherryfield Town Office at 546-2376.  Signup sheets for the benefit dinner are at both the Cherryfield and Addison town halls.

Also, benefit accounts have been set up for Mary Farnsworth at two different banks.
