PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud says a House-approved defense appropriations bill includes a $20 million increase for Humvee maintenance operations at an Army National Guard maintenance site in northern Maine.

Michaud, a Maine Democrat, says the bill that was approved by the House on Thursday contains a total of $50 million for Humvee maintenance operations in Limestone, where the Maine Military Authority refurbishes vehicles for the Army National Guard.

Michaud says that represents a $20 million increase over the $30 million that was originally budgeted for the facility for fiscal year 2010.

The bill still awaits Senate approval.
