SKOWHEGAN, Maine (NEWS CENTER)---New details have emerged on the Skowhegan woman suspected of murdering a man from Troy last week.

State police issued a warrant for the arrest of 45-year old Karen McCaul yesterday. Investigators charge that she murdered 63-year-old Richard Howe in her apartment at 36 High Street in Skowhegan on Christmas Eve.

Skowhegan police discovered his body after McCaul called 9-1-1 on Thursday afternoon.

The building's landlord told NEWS CENTER today that McCaul only had been living in unit 5 of the building for the last three months. He described her as a 'private' but 'pleasant' women who suffered from mobility issues. He also says that McCall did not hold a job and recently had been acting 'strangely' and 'paranoid.'

State police say McCaul has been hospitalized since Christmas Eve but are not saying where exactly. Investigators add that they intend to arrest her when she is released.
