HAMPDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER)--- The Cub Scouts of Pack 41 as well as their friends and family gathered at Reeds Brook Middle School early this afternoon for the group's annual Pinewood Derby.

The kids had about a month to build their small racers for the competition. Today they finally got to see them in action as the cars, which can't be over five ounces, were raced down a track three at a time.

Prizes were given out at the end of the event to those scouts with the fastest cars.

Friends and family also got to race cars for a small price of five dollars. Those proceeds will go directly back to supporting the pack's activities.
