STRATHAM, NH (AP) -- Police say a Maine man is in jail in New Hampshire on charges that he allegedly burglarized a home and made his getaway in a vehicle that he carjacked at gunpoint.

Thirty-two-year-old Adam Pento of Sanford, Maine, is scheduled to make a court appearance Monday on multiple charges.

Police say Pento is accused of burglarizing a house in North Hampton on Friday before commandeering a vehicle from a motorist.

Pento was arrested Saturday after attempting to elude police in Stratham and leading them on a foot chase.

Thirty-seven-year-old Rebecca Paulus of Kennebunk, Maine, who was with Pento at the time of his arrest, was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
