BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Police in Vermont's largest city are asking federal authorities to help investigate whether two massage parlors where violent sexual assaults took place might be part of a multistate network that exploits Korean-born women who are in the country illegally.

Burlington Police Chief Michael Schirling told the Burlington Free Press that he has asked for help from agents with the FBI and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Forty-nine-year-old John Green of Burlington has pleaded not guilty to multiple sexual assault charges for allegedly assaulting Korean women at the Eunhwa Spa and the Tokyo Massage Therapy last year. He is being held on $400,000 bail.
