MILO, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Jeff Gahagan resigned as Milo town manager about a week and a half ago. After tonight's selectmen's meeting, Milo now has an interim town manager.
Roger Raymond is the interim Milo town manager. Milo Chief of Police Damien Pickel said Raymond has previous experience when he held the same position in Bucksport.
The Selectmen's Board picked Raymond after they discussed him and other candidates for the interim position during a closed session at tonight's meeting.
"We're gonna talk about why we like this one and why we don't like that one and so on. And in order to avoid hurting someone's feelings in public, we're going to have a discussion behind closed doors," Selectmen Wilma Stanchfield said during the meeting.
Stanchfield also added that Raymond will be the town manager until a full time replacement is found. She said that could take a couple of weeks or a few months.
When Gahagan resigned, he stated that he was stepping down as town manager because of health reasons.
