LEBANON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- For the third time since April, the Lebanon Rescue Department has had its radio communications jammed while responding to an emergency call, but investigators now say they are closing in on whoever might be interfering with their signal.

Sunday night, rescue personnel were responding to a four car crash involving eleven people.  When a first responder attempted to call for more help, the signal was blocked, and the arrival of four extra ambulances was delayed several minutes.  Rescue officials also had signals jammed while responding to a fire back in May, and during a request for a paramedic to help someone in critical condition in April.

Lebanon Rescue has been working with the FCC over the last few months trying to locate who might be jamming signals.

"The FCC has been assisting us since the first incident in April. They've been doing some random patrols, also working with our radio vendor Southern Maine Communications, and we've been able to, through the great work of Southern Maine Communications, determine three or four suspects that have the equipment that's being used to jam us," Lebanon Rescue Assistant Chief Jason Cole said.

Cole says the FCC will continue its investigation as it continues to zero in on the suspect.
