DAMARISCOTTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Great Salt Bay School officials decided to lock the school down while Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies searched for a wanted man.

No children were hurt.

Law enforcement officials were looking for a man from Bristol after a report that he was upset about a pending child custody situation.

Lt. Rand Maker from the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says the man was found and after consulting with him and a family doctor they determined he was no threat to himself or others.

The man was released from police custody - he was never taken to the jail - and school resumed as normal.

In a media release, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says they don't plan on releasing the man's name because no crime was committed and there will be no further investigation.
