PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER)- There is a lot of confusion over what time stores in Maine will be opening on Black Friday. While national commercials say certain stores would open before Midnight, not so in Maine.
Maine "blue laws" prevent most stores from opening before 12:01am on "Black Friday." There are some exceptions to the rule. L.L. Bean is "grandfathered" in and pharmacies are also on the list of exceptions.
We spoke with Curtis Picard of the Retail Association of Maine on NEWS CENTER at 5 to clear up some of the confusion.
