(NEWS CENTER) - AUGUSTA - The Maine Principals Association Football Committee met today to discuss realignment of the football classes and NEWS CENTER's Csaba Sukosd was there. 

The Reclassification List was agreed upon allowing the next step in the process to take place. The new list will be presented to the Classification Committee December 10th for approval and then passed onto individual schools for action at a district level sometime in March. 

Mt Ararat had petitioned to drop from Class A to Class C but the request was denied. However, the committee approved the Eagles for Class B. Camden Hills and Nokomis both petitioned to be dropped down a class from B to C and were both approved. Mt. Ararat, Nokomis and Camden Hills will all not be eligible for the post season in 2013. 

Ellsworth returned to Varsity football play this season in Class C and will be dropped to Class D. They will also not be eligible for the post season in 2013.

Class A East: Lewiston, Bangor, Oxford Hills, Edward Little, Deering, Portland, Brunswick, Cheverus, Windham

Class B West: Falmouth, Marshwood, Kennebunk, Greely, Westbrook, Fryeburg Acad., York, Morse, Mt. Ararat

Class B East: Skowhegan, Messalonskee, Cony, Hampden Academy, Mt. Blue, Lawrence, Brewer, Gardiner, Oceanside

Class C West: Leavitt, Lake Region, Cape Elizabeth, Gray-NG, Spruce Mtn., Freeport, Poland, Wells, Mtn. Valley

Class C East: Belfast, Waterville, Madison/Carrabec, MDI, Hermon, Old Town, Winslow, Nokomis, Camden Hills 

Class D West: Yarmouth, Oak Hill, Lisbon, Sacopee Val., Dirigo, Traip, OOB, Telstar, Winthrop, Boothbay, Maranacook

Class D East: Bapst, Mt View, MCI, Wash. Academy, Bucksport, Orono, Mattanawcook, Dexter, Ellsworth, Foxcroft, Stearns
