ORONO (NEWS CENTER) -- Educators from across the state got together at Umaine Orono Friday to learn how to attract more girls to careers in science and technology.

The Umaine Women's Resource Center is launching a new program called the Maine Girls Collaborative Project. The Women's Center just received $35,000 dollars in grant money to launch the program.

Organizers say the program will create a network of teachers, business and government leaders to improve girls performance and interest in science technology engineering and math.
