SCARBOROUGH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - Scarborough police said a wire came down suddenly on a passing school bus on Monday morning.
According to Scarborough Deputy Deering, all twelve kids on the bus were safe and never in danger. Deputy Deering also said that the bus driver did the right thing by stopping the bus right when the wires came down it.
The kids stayed on the bus during the incident and were having fun and playing games and no one was injured, said Deputy Deering.
Police blame the incident on a fallen tree limb from a residence near the road. They said the tree limb knocked over the power line and the power line intertwined with the cable wire.
The cable wire was the only wire that touched the bus, confirms Deputy Deering.
According to police, Cable Power and Light came on the scene for repairs and the school bus was back on their route to school.
