Sullivan stabbing fight leads to arrests

SULLIVAN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Two people were charged after a fight broke out Wednesday afternoon, said State Police.

State Police said an altercation at Asheville Road left two people with stab wounds. When troopers arrived, they found William Gatcomb, 44 of Sullivan, walking on Morancy Road in Sullivan and Rachel Dwyer, 41 of Sullivan, hiding with a dog behind a shed on the same road. Police arrested both and then transported Dwyer to the Hancock County Jail. Officials transported Gatcomb to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for injuries he received during the fight. The injuries were not life threatening, said State Police.

State Police charged Gatcomb with assault and Dwyer with aggravated assault. Gouldsboro PD, MDEA, and the Fire Marshal's Office assisted. State Police are still investigating what caused the assaults to occur.
