Thousands without power Sunday morning

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Downed power lines at Gray and Winter Streets in Portland caused several thousand people to lose power early Sunday morning.

A CMP spokesperson said the number of outages was down to somewhere between 600 and 700 as of 8:45AM. They expect crews to restore power to all of its customers by 10AM.

Power outages also occurred in Penobscot, Knox, Lincoln, Somerset. Kennebec, Waldo, Androscoggin, and York counties. No reason was given for those outages.
