Not only did "Newsies" bomb at the box office, it was one of the least successful live-action productions ever released by the Walt Disney company.
But the movie got a second chance on Broadway. With a few tweaks to the story and some new songs, it opened last year to rave reviews, and was even nominated for a Tony for best musical.
