SAN DIEGO, California (NBC/CNN) - While the manhunt continues for murder suspect, James DiMaggio, and his victim, 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, police have identified the body found in Anderson's home as that of her 8-year-old brother, Ethan Anderson.
Late Friday night, authorities confirmed that DNA testing on the body's bone marrow came back positive for the young boy. His body, and that of his mother, Christina, were found in a house fire, believed to be set by DiMaggio before he fled with Hannah Anderson last week.
Some witnesses say DiMaggio was a family friend and had a crush on Hannah.
An Amber Alert for Hannah is active in 6 states, with the focus on some rugged terrain in Idaho right now. A horseback rider reported seeing a man and young woman hiking in that area.
A blue Nissan Versa was found about 6 miles away from where the two people were spotted. The license plates were removed, but police confirm the car does belong to DiMaggio.
