(NEWS CENTER)-- More people in Washington and Hancock Counties are dying from Breast Cancer than anywhere else in Maine, that's according to a 2011 study by Susan G. Komen Maine. The biggest problems in those counties is women lack access to care, and don't know what resources are out there to help them. The Downeast Breast Cancer Alliance, or DEBCA, wants to change that.
If you are interested in learning about how DEBCA can help you or a loved one, the organization is hosting an event on May 3 at the Cobscook Community Learning Center in Lubec. For more information, call the Beth C Wright Cancer Resource Center at 664-0339.
