CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- New Hampshire officials said $12 million in federal stimulus money is available as grants and loans for energy efficiency projects.

The New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority has received $3.5 million to create a revolving loan fund to help finance projects at businesses. The authority plans to use $1 million for smaller businesses and nonprofit groups. The rest will be lent to larger businesses and organizations.

Almost $7 million will go to municipalities and counties to reduce energy consumption. The University System of New Hampshire will get over $1 million for improvements at campuses in Keene, Plymouth and Durham. Another $600,000 will be spent to improve compliance and enforcement of state building codes.
