Road Rage Sends Biker Flying

(WBBH) Road rage on the streets of Lehigh Acres, Florida put one man in the hospital and landed another in jail Sunday afternoon.

Gregory Pointer is charged with battery with a deadly weapon after Lee County deputies say he intentionally hit motorcyclist Michael Johnston with his truck and ran him off the road.

Johnston says he was heading out for a ride on his 2004 Suzuki Volusia Intruder, a gift from his wife, Kristan.

He says ten minutes from home, a man in a green truck slammed on his brakes in front of him.

Johnston says he pulled up beside the truck near the intersection of Fifth Street and Fifth Avenue.

"I said did you not see me back there? Just slow down and pay attention, this is my life," said Johnston, "and he didn't really like that."

Johnston says that's when the unexpected happened.

"He rammed me, I was going to pass him, he looked at me, said his profanity and just bam," said Johnston.
