Warm weather, rain increases flood threat

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The River Flow Commission is meeting Monday as the weather warms up and rain starts to move in.

Monday's warm temperatures will cause some snow melting. The real concern is for Tuesday because Kevin Mannix said there could be up to an inch in some areas of Maine. Both days will keep the rivers running high. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch Monday through Wednesday.

The River Flow Commission will be reviewing and discussing the current flood potential across Maine. They will look into stream flow and ice chunks.

Monday's flood threat is minor, mostly field and road flooding. The threat is more significant Tuesday through Wednesday.
