NEW YORK CITY, NY (WNBC) - Kindergarten students at a New York elementary school won't sing Justin Bieber's "Baby" as part of their graduation ceremony after a storm of controversy.

The program for PS 90's graduation ceremony originally included the patriotic song "God Bless The USA", but that song was pulled after principal Greta Hawkins says she was concerned that some might consider that choice offensive to other cultures.

Many parents were outraged.

"We're proud to be an Americans, so we can live free, so it should be no problem to sing that song over a "Baby" song, a teenage love song," said mother Luz Lozada.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Monday that Principal Hawkins had reversed her decision on "Baby", but "God Bless The USA" won't return to the program.

A Facebook page calling for her firing has been set up and is gaining popularity
