AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- Poison ivy has crept up to the concrete deck the Sustainable Food Center uses for their farmer's market in East Austin.
But rather than dousing the deck with plant-killing sprays, the SFC found an environmentally friendly -- and perhaps even a tasty -- solution.
The center is using goats from Swede Farm to get the poison ivy under control. Goats aren't allergic to poison ivy and eat it as food.
They'll be tethered at the East Martin Luther King Boulevard location in the afternoons and evenings on Wednesdays for the next several weeks.
