Strimling & Harriman on the politics of the 133rd's future

(NEWS CENTER) -- Governor Paul LePage is amending recent statements he's made regarding the future of the 133rd Engineering Battalion of Maine's National Guard. When news broke a few weeks ago that there were plans to swap some engineering units for infantry units from other states, the governor said, as Maine's commander in chief, he was not going to let that happen.

On Tuesday, the governor told reporters, as much as he'd like the engineering units to stay, he has no control over what military officials in Washington ultimately decide.

What are the political ramifications of whatever happens to the 133rd?

We talk with NEWS CENTER analysts Phil Harriman and Ethan Strimling about that and other things going on in Augusta this week.
