SOUTH PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) - In seven months, Jon Gillies has gone from a third-round pick in the NHL draft to a freshman of the month in his debut for Providence College to now a gold medalist as a member of the under-20 junior hockey team. 

The 18-year old goalie and his teammates are just the third American squad in the history of the event to win the gold.
