ALTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - A construction worker was pinned under a dump truck at a construction site in Alton on Thursday. Morris Chiles, 51, of Mattawamkeag had his foot stuck between the dual wheels of the dump truck.
When state police arrived where Lane Construction was working, Chiles was conscious and talking. He was taken to the hospital about 45 minutes later for treatment.
Workers on-scene reenacted the accident for police investigators.
Since it was a work-related incident, OSHA was notified, but due to the government shutdown, most inspectors are on furlough, meaning inspectors will only make it to the most serious accidents.
