GREENVILLE COUNTY, South Carolina (WYFF) -- An 11-year-old South Carolina boy is recovering after falling into a 150-foot deep well.
The boy was playing on a wooden cover on the well, located behind a vacant Greenville County home, when he fell through.
Within an hour of the boy's fall, a firefighter was lowered into the well to try to reach him, but he had to be pulled out because his legs went numb. Shortly after, the boy was successfully pulled from the well.
"It was a great feeling when we brought him up and he was fussing and hurting. I don't want him hurting, but as long as he is fussing that means he is alert and it was remarkable to hear him that way," said Lt. Tim Ridgeway of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.
