BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- It's that time of year again, the Eastern Maine High School Basketball tournament will tip off tomorrow and people who will attend the tournament will be able get to the Bangor Auditorium using a familiar street.
Dutton Street has been closed since construction of the new auditorium began. Bass Park executive director Mike Dyer said Dutton Street will open at noon tomorrow, and with the opening of the street people can expect to have the same experience as before getting in and out of the event.
Dyer said the only difference at the tournament this year is where the players will be dropped off. He said players will be dropped off at the back of the auditorium and schools and bus drivers have already been informed of the change.
People can enter the auditorium off of Buck Street, but Dyer recommends that people use Dutton Street.
"Given the current circumstances with the access from Buck Street not being as wide as it will eventually, it will be much easier for everybody," Dyer said.
Tournament organizers said the doors will open at 3:30 pm Friday. They also said the doors should open an hour and a half before the first game Saturday and Sunday.
