(NEWS CENTER)-- According to our media partners at the Bangor Daily News, Roger Reed has resigned as the head boys basketball coach at Bangor High School. After 27 years at the helm, and 8 class 'A' state championships, the BDN reports that Bangor High School principal Paul Butler asked Reed to make a choice between continuing to coach or a potential political career. Reed, who is 72 years old, won his primary on Tuesday to represent House District 23 (Carmel, Etna, Hermon and Stetson) in the Maine Legislature.
