NEW YORK (Sports Network) -- Major League Baseball announced the suspensions of two minor league pitchers on Friday following their violations of the minor league drug prevention and treatment program.
Marco Duarte, a Portland Sea Dogs pitcher, has received a 50-game ban after testing positive for an amphetamine.
Luis Atilano, a pitcher in the Cincinnati Reds system, has received a 50-game suspension after a second violation for a drug of abuse.
Both suspensions are without pay and are effective immediately.
