NEWS CENTER - LPGA veteran Sherri Turner hung around on Saturday, then seized her second Legends Tour win on Sunday. The 55 year-old finished six under to win the first ever Hannaford Community Challenge at Falmouth Country Club.
Turner was amongst a trio of golfers one stroke behind the leaders entering Sunday's Final round. The 1988 LPGA Champ was only one of two golfers to shoot below par on both days. The other was her playing partner Val Skinner, who finished in a tie for second with Rosie Jones. Turner dedicated the victory to her late mother, who died just a few weeks ago. The first ever LPGA affiliated event in Maine marked Turner's fourth career win in an LPGA event.
