(NEWS CENTER)-- What a great weekend for local hockey players in the state of Maine. South Portland's Jon Gillies got selected in the 3rd round of the NHL draft by the Calgary Flames. And in the 2nd round, the Tampa Bay Lightning took Brian Hart from Cumberland.

Meanwhile, it was a wild weekend for Biddefords Brian Dumoulin. On day one of the NHL draft, the Carolina Hurricanes traded the defenseman to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since Dumoulin had just signed his pro-contract with the Canes a couple of months ago, this was not a move he was expecting.
