NEWS CENTER- Former Red Claw Jamar Smith knows the feeling of playing with the Celtics.  He did it two years ago and he'll do it again in September.

Smith was invited to Celtics training camp after signing a non-guaranteed contract with Boston.  The team's director of player personnel Austin Ainge confirmed the news whilst in Portland at the Junior Red Claws Basketball Clinic.  Smith also attended Boston's preseason camp back in 2010.

As a member of the Celtics Summer League teams in Orlando and Las Vegas, Smith has shown the ability to shoot from distance averaging 50 percent from three-point range.

During the 2010-11 season with Maine, Smith averaged 13 points and almost six assists a game.

He spent the past season playing in the Czech Republic.
