Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Houston Dynamo forward Calen Carr sustained a
torn ACL in his team's 3-1 defeat against the Los Angeles Galaxy in the MLS
Cup final, it was revealed on Wednesday.
Carr scored a first-half goal to put the Dynamo ahead, 1-0, at halftime. But
he was forced off the field after colliding with Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez
in the 57th minute, and Houston conceded three unanswered goals to watch the
Galaxy claim a second straight title.
The 30-year-old Carr will now undergo a few weeks of prehabilitation before
having surgery to repair his left knee, which is the same knee that required
ACL surgery in 2008 while Carr was a member of the Chicago Fire.
In 26 regular season games for Houston this season, Carr tallied four goals
with two assists.
No timetable for his return has been established.
