Red Claws on top of East after defeating Springfield

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --The Maine Red Claws trying to snap a 2-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon against the last place Springfield Armour.  

Maine had a comfortable 10 point lead in the first half. But Dennis Horner passes to James Hayes for the slam. The Armour cut the deficit to eight.

Chris Wright digs deep off the glass to get two points for Maine. Red Claws up, 60-52, just before halftime.

In the 2nd half, Chris Wright scored on a tomahawk slam dunk, putting Maine up by six points. Wright set a team record in rebounds with 20. He also scored 25 points for a double-double.

On the next Claws possession, Xavier Silas uses two hands for this slam dunk to open the lead to 73-65.

Maine holds on to win, 120-112. The victory puts the Red Claws into first place in the East Division.

The team and Crusher wore camouflage for the game in honor of Military Appreciation Day.
