Winnipeg, MB (Sports Network) -- The Philadelphia Flyers placed forward Jody
Shelley on injured reserve prior to Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.
Shelley, which has only suited up in one game this season, was sidelined by a
hip injury.
The 37-year-old Manitoba native has been used sparingly since arriving in
Philadelphia in 2010, accumulating two goals and five points in 89 games over
two-plus seasons.
Philly also recalled forward Harry Zolnierczyk from Adirondack of the American
Hockey League to compensate for the absences of Shelley and forward Sean
Couturier, who was a late scratch for Monday's loss in Toronto with the flu
and was sent home to recover.
Zolnierczyk has spent the entire 2012-13 season with the Phantoms, where he
has posted nine goals and 17 points in 46 games. He appeared in 37 games for
the Flyers a year ago, recording three goals and three assists.
