Bowdoin Men get win in NCAA DIII Opener

(NEWS CENTER) - The Bowdoin men hosted U-Mass Dartmouth in a first round NCAA tournament game in Brunswick tonight.

The Polar Bears struck first in the first.... Jay Livermore with the power play goal... Bowdoin had a 1-0 lead after 1....

2nd period now, tied at one but not for long... Dylan Shamburger parks himself in front of the net and off the scramble he is wide open to light the lamp... The Polar Bears had the lead again at 2-1..

Once again U-Mass Dartmouth tied it and once again Bowdoin answered... Kyle Lockwood sends one home with :25 seconds to go in the period... The power play tally made it 3-2 Polar Bears....

Bowdoin added 2 more goals in the 3rd for good measure... The Polar Bears are into the NCAA quarterfinals after a 5-2 win... Bowdoin will play at Utica on Saturday night at 8:30.
