Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Jussi Jokinen scored the lone goal in the
shootout as Pittsburgh edged the New York Rangers, 2-1, in the back end of a
home-and-home set from CONSOL Energy Center.
Jokinen beat Henrik Lundqvist with a trademark wrister while skating from
right to left across the slot in the first round, and though two more of his
new teammates failed to score, Marc-Andre Fleury turned away all three New
Jokinen also provided the sole regulation tally for the Penguins, who avenged
a 6-1 loss in Manhattan to the Rangers on Wednesday.
Fleury ended up with 34 saves as Pittsburgh won its 10th consecutive home game
that was decided in a shootout.
Rick Nash scored and Lundqvist made 26 stops for the Rangers, who had won two
in a row.
