PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) - The Portland Pirates three-game win streak came to an end against potential playoff opponenents Springifield 4-2.

Andy Miele tallied his 17th and 18th goals on the year and Mike Lee made 29 saves.  Former Pirate Curtis McElhinney had 19 stops in the Falcons goal.

Seven points in their final seven games would guarantee Portland a return to the Calder Cup playoffs.   Only two of those will be against current playoff teams.

THe Pirates will be at St. John's for a pair of mid-week games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
