PITTSBURGH (NEWS CENTER) - A week after Deering alum Ryan Reid got his first Major League save, the Portland native realized the other end of the spectrum as he was optioned back to Triple A Indianapolis.

Reid's reassignment came as a result of the Pittsburgh Pirates needing a roster spot for starter AJ Burnett's return from the disabled list.

In the past five weeks with the big league club, Reid made seven appearances accumulating 11 innings posting a 1.64 ERA, whilst striking out seven batters and earning his first Major League save.
