(NEWS CENTER) - Maine's two teams in the New England Football League rode a pair of running backs to victories on Saturday as Southern Maine beat Lowell 22-14 and Maine knocked off New Hampshire 28-6.
Phil Warren's 111 rushing yards and two touchdowns were the difference for the Raging Bulls as the Brunswick alum helped snapped a 16-year losing skid against the Nor'easter.
Meanwhile, it was Bonny Eagle product Jon Wieschman's two scores and 165 yards on the ground that got the Sabers offense going.
Both teams are now 2-0 on the year. Southern Maine will host Maine at Deering Memorial Field on Saturday August 3rd.
