(NEWS CENTER) - For the second time in six weeks, there's a report that South Portland native Brett Brown has been offered the head coaching position for the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers. This time the team's general manager is not denying it.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the 13-year assisant for the San Antonio Spurs is 76ers coach of choice and both sides are discussing the terms of a contract.
Brown is the son of New England Basketball Hall of Fame coach Bob Brown.
It's the second time this NBA offseason a Maine native has been offered the job of an NBA head coach. Lincoln native and UMaine-Farmington alum Steve Clifford was named the head coach of the Charlotte franchise back on May 29th.
