SCARBOROUGH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Beech Ridge Motor Speedway has been around for years and their flagman Eddie Walsh has been there for a lot of them.
The man manning the flags at Beech Ridge for the past 37 years is the only flagman in the Northeast to have his name on the flagstaff.
His name also happens to be apart of something even more exclusive. According to Beech Ridge CEO Andy Cusack, the Motor Speedway is the only track in the country to hand out checkered flags to feature race winners. Each one of those prizes is signed and dated by Walsh.
The 2013 race season at Beech Ridge concludes on September 14.
