UMaine hockey scores 6 in 2nd period, wins 3rd straight

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The University of Maine hockey team scored six goals in a period for the first time in 11 years en route to an 8-4 win over UMASS-Amherst. 

The Black Bears (3-2) rallied from two deficits to score five unanswered goals in the second period.  Lewiston native Mark Anthoine had two goals and two assists, while Scarborough alum Jake Rutt added a goal as well.  Of the six goals scored in the second period, four were scored by freshmen. 

Maine will travel to Amherst next weekend to open their Hockey East season against the same Minutemen.
