ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Devin Shore and Ben Hutton scored two goals each and Martin Oullette limited the nation's top offense to just one goal as the UMaine hockey team overwhelmed #7 Boston College 5-1, before a sold out Alfond Arena.
Shore got things going just 37 seconds into the game beating BC goalie Brian Billett.
The Black Bears doubled their lead less than four minutes later on a give-and-go between Ben Hutton and Josh Henke. Lewiston native Mark Anthoine had one of the assists.
Maine added a third goal in the first period when Ryan Lomberg put away a Jon Swavely rebound.
B.C. would score late in the period to pull within 3-1 at the first inermission.
Shore added his second of the game midway through the second courtesy of a Steven Swavely rebound.
Httton capped the scoring with 3:34 left in the game for the 5-1 victory.
Oullette made 33 saves in the victory.
Maine is now 6-4-1 on the season and 3-2-1 in Hockey East play.
Maine will resume their schedule next Friday for a pair of non-conference games at Vermont.
