Cosgrove finishes third in FCS coach of the year vote

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Umaine football's historic season caught the attention local, regional and now national eyes, as head coach Jack Cosgrove and linebacker Christophe Mulumba were honored for their individual efforts.

Cosgrove received 18 first place votes and finished third in the running for the Eddie Robinson Award,given to the FCS coach of the year, after guiding Umaine to their first home playoff game in school history. 

Defensive standout Mulumba placed 6th for the Jerry Rice Award, which goes to the top freshman in the country. 

He led the Black Bears with 118 tackles, while also compiling two interceptions, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.
