NEWS CENTER - After spending his first seven seasons in the Tampa Bay Rays organization, Deering alum Ryan Reid is now moving to his third organization in a year after the New York Mets claimed him off waivers.
The 28-year old made his Major League debut on June 3rd and spent the next month with the Pirates. In that span, he made seven relief appearances, earning his first career save. His line during that span: 11.0 innings pitched, nine hits, three walks, seven strikeouts and a 1.64 E.R.A.
Reid spent most of the season with AAA Indianapolis where he struck out 56 batters in 59 1/3 innings with a 2.73 E.R.A. Since making it to the AAA level back in 2011, Reid's earned run average has steadily improved each season: 4.55 in 2011 and 3.252 in 2012.
